Triund Trek – A Perfect Getaway for Every Traveler

In 2016, I went on my first adventure to the Triund Trek with two of my friends. We took a Volvo from Delhi to Dharamshala, then caught a mini bus to Mcleodganj, which was around 10 kms away. After freshening up, we set out in new clothes, thinking we were ready for a simple tourist visit. The trek starts from the Mcleodganj market, and although there’s an option for a shared auto ride for the first 4 kms, we decided to walk, fueled by a heavy parantha breakfast.

By the time we had covered 2 kms, we were completely drained. We had no trekking gear, no water, and a stomach full of parantha. It was a hilarious sight, seeing each other struggle, but looking back, it turned into one of the most memorable and adventurous experiences. I’ve done this trek twice, and every time it gave me a new story to tell.

This is what the scene looks like after trekking some Kilometres.

My Experience – Triund Trek

My first experience was very different and new, I had no idea what a trek is, the routes, what is the weather like at the top, what should I do and what should I not do. But now that I have done Triund trek twice since 2016, I would like to go there for the third time soon to get a new experience because I hope a lot of things would have changed there. Those who want to do something new and adventurous should go there once. In fact, I also travel solo a lot, so I would recommend solo travelers to go there and definitely experience it once.
