Pune to Bangalore Bus Journey in a Volvo 9600 Multi-Axle Sleeper (2+1): August 2025

I traveled from Pune to Bangalore by premium sleeper bus. It was first time in Bangalore, and I also chose the premium vovlo 9600 Multi-Axle A/C Sleeper (2+1 configuration). I had been wanting to do this bus journey for a long time, and I finally did it.

  • Bed Sheet – Freshly arranged on the sleeper berth.
  • Snacks – Small snack box with biscuits, namkeen, chikki, wipes & tissue.
  • Wi-Fi – Limited connectivity, works better near cities.
  • CCTV Surveillance – For added security during the journey.
  • Pillow – Soft and comfortable, provided with the bedding.
  • Air conditioning was well-balanced and the vents were adjustable .
  • Curtains – clean curtains and bedding provided
  • Shoe shelf – a shoe shelf inside the cabin was very handy

Food and Washroom Breaks

  1. 7:30 PM: Washroom break for 10 mins at a petrol pump.
  2. 8:15 PM: Dinner stop for 30 mins at Hotel Raigad Inn – a very basic highway restaurant with average hygiene but the food taste was surprisingly good.
  3. 8:15 PM: Breakfast stop for 30 mins at again basic highway restaurant with average hygiene.

Volvo 9600 Sleeper Bus Journey Experience: 2025

The bus journey started at around 5:15 PM and ended at 9:00 AM in the morning, covered 890 km in almost 15-16 hours. The overall experience was good as this premium bus offered modern amenities such as comfortable sleepers berths, a well-designed cabin, wide windows for a good view, curtains for privacy, individual reading lights, and thoughtful features like the shoe shelf, it made the long overnight journey stress-free. The journey felt smooth and comfortable.
