Traffic movement on NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway) remained slow between Balianalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and Marog–Kishtwari Pather due to single-lane traffic and breakdown of heavy vehicles.

➡️ Passengers/LMVs are advised to travel during daytime only and avoid night travel due to movement of HMVs and migration of nomads through tunnels.
➡️ Both-way movement for LMVs, private cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa, subject to fair weather and road conditions.
➡️ Commuters must maintain lane discipline; overtaking or wrong-lane driving will lead to congestion.

Other routes:

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244): Only LMVs allowed both ways — 8 AM–3 PM (Anantnag→Kishtwar) and 9 AM–3 PM (Kishtwar→Anantnag).

SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Kargil): LMVs from Minamarg→Srinagar (5 AM–10 AM); LMVs/HMVs from Sonamarg→Kargil (11:30 AM–5:30 PM).

Mughal Road: LMVs allowed both ways from Behramgalla–Herpora (6 AM–5 PM). HMVs (6-tyre only) allowed Poonch→Shopian.

As per Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, movement on NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway) remains slow between Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and Marog–Kishtwari Pather due to single-lane stretches and the movement of four nomadic flocks in the area.

🔸 Advisory:

Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer daytime travel and avoid night hours, as the movement of HMVs and nomadic migration between Nashri Tunnel and Navyug Tunnel may cause inconvenience.

Overtaking and wrong-lane driving may lead to congestion — commuters must follow lane discipline.

🔹 LMVs/Private Cars/HMVs (goods carriers) are allowed from both sides on the Jammu–Srinagar NHW, subject to fair weather and road conditions.
🔹 Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244) and Mughal Road also open for LMVs from both directions within prescribed timing windows.
🔹 Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari (SSG Road) open for regulated movement depending on BRO clearance.

Travellers are advised to confirm road status before departure with Traffic Control Units of Jammu, Srinagar, Ramban, Udhampur, Kishtwar, or Kargil.

As per the Traffic Police Headquarters, J&K, Jammu/Srinagar, movement on NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar Highway) remains slow due to single-lane traffic at Balinala, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and between Marog–Kishtwari Pather. The situation is further affected by the breakdown of two HMVs and the movement of nomadic flocks in the same stretch.

🔹 Advisory:

Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer day travel on NH-44.

Avoid night journeys due to HMV movement and migration of nomads which may cause delays.

Maintain lane discipline — overtaking and wrong-lane driving will lead to congestion.

🔹 Route Status:

LMVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Goods carriers) allowed from both sides between Jammu and Srinagar, subject to fair weather and road conditions.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244): Only LMVs allowed from both sides between 0800–1500 hrs (Anantnag to Kishtwar) and 0900–1500 hrs (Kishtwar to Anantnag).

SSG Road: LMVs followed by HMVs allowed from Minamarg to Srinagar (0500–1000 hrs) and from Sonamarg to Kargil (1130–1730 hrs).

Mughal Road: LMVs/Private Cars allowed from Behramgalla (0600–1730 hrs) and from Herpora (0600–1700 hrs). HMVs (6-tyre only) permitted from Poonch to Shopian direction only.

Jammu–Srinagar NH-44:
Traffic movement remains slow between Balinala, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, Marog, and Kishtwari Pather due to single-lane traffic and breakdown of several heavy vehicles. Movement of nomadic flocks is also reported in the area, causing intermittent congestion.

👉 Advisory:

Passengers and LMVs are advised to travel during daytime and avoid night journeys due to HMV movement and nomad migration.

Follow lane discipline; overtaking or wrong-lane driving may lead to further congestion.

Subject to fair weather, LMVs and HMVs (load carriers) will be allowed from both sides of Jammu–Srinagar NHW after coordination with TCU Ramban.

Security Forces Convoy: Movement allowed both ways on NH-44 after clearance from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244: Road remains closed due to snow accumulation.

SSG Road:

From Minamarg to Srinagar: 0500–1000 hrs

From Sonamarg to Kargil: 1130–1730 hrs
Traffic will be regulated under BRO supervision; no vehicle will be allowed beyond cut-off timing.

Mughal Road:
Open for LMVs/Private Cars both sides between 0600–1700 hrs, subject to clearance. HMVs (six tyres only) allowed Shopian → Poonch direction only.

🚧 NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar Highway):

Travelers are advised to prefer day travel as night movement may cause inconvenience because of heavy vehicle movement through tunnels.

⚠️ No up-movement of goods carriers (HMVs/MMVs) from Jammu towards Srinagar will be allowed today (2nd Nov) due to movement of secretariat employees from Srinagar to Jammu.

🚗 LMVs (cars/private vehicles) are allowed from both sides—Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa—depending on weather and road conditions.
🚛 HMVs are allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu after the secretariat convoy crosses Chanderkote.
