There was slow movement on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Balinalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, and between Marog & Kishtwari Pather, along with the breakdown of 05 HMVs and movement of nomadic flocks in the same stretch.
➡️ Goods carriers transporting perishables or livestock are advised to plan their journey as per the official advisory due to restricted lane movement and poor road conditions in the above areas.
➡️ Commuters should strictly follow lane discipline — avoid overtaking and unnecessary travel on NH-44 to prevent congestion.
➡️ LMVs/Passenger Cars are allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW, between Jammu (Nagrota) and Srinagar (Qazigund) as per the following timings:
Nagrota → Srinagar: 08:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Qazigund → Jammu: 07:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar, regulated from Jakhani (Udhampur) onwards after traffic clearance.
Additional Route Updates:
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244: LMVs allowed both sides after clearance, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari): LMVs allowed from Minamarg → Srinagar (5:00 AM–10:00 AM) and Sonamarg → Kargil (11:30 AM–5:30 PM).
Mughal Road: LMVs permitted both ways from Behramgala → Shopian (6:00 AM–5:30 PM).
⚠️ Travelers are advised to confirm road status with Traffic Control Units before starting their journey.

The stretch from Pandoh Bypass to Takoli Section on the Mandi–Kullu National Highway has sustained significant damage at multiple points due to the recent monsoon. To enable repair and restoration work, this section will remain closed for all types of vehicular movement from 11:00 PM to 04:00 AM till 31st October 2025.
⚠️ Emergency vehicles may be exempted during the closure period.
Travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow safety and traffic advisories while on this route.

Traffic moving slowly on NH-44 due to single-lane stretches at Bailanalla, Dewal, Nashri–Dalwas, Marog & Kishtwari Pather, along with the breakdown of 6 HMVs and movement of 28 nomadic flocks in the same region.
🚛 Goods Carriers (HMV/LMV):
Drivers carrying perishable or livestock goods are advised to start as per official timings and be cautious at the above-mentioned stretches.
🚗 LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars:
Jammu → Srinagar: Allowed from Nagrota 0600–1100 hrs, Udhampur 0700–1000 hrs
Srinagar → Jammu: Allowed from Qazigund 0700–1000 hrs

Due to the onset of winter and dropping temperatures, snow has started accumulating along riverbanks in Lahaul & Spiti, making the terrain extremely slippery and unstable. The Chandra River has become colder and more turbulent, posing serious risks to tourists and locals who venture close for selfies, videos, or crossing.
🚫 As per the official order, tourists are strictly prohibited from going near or into the Chandra River stretch between:
🏞 Koksar to Tandi Sangam (Keylong)
🌉 Atharghu Bridge to Sumdo (Kaza)
❄️ Why this advisory matters:
High risk of slipping on icy riverbanks
Sudden formation of ice sheets and unpredictable currents
Life-threatening situations and danger to rescue personnel
⚠️ Penalty for violation:
Imprisonment up to 8 days ❌
Fine from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000, or both as per Section 115 of H.P. Police Act.
