Road Update (Mandi Region)

Most routes are THROUGH, including Mandi–Kullu (Pandoh & Kataula), NH-154 to Joginder Nagar, Fourlane to Bilaspur, Rewalsar, Janjheli (LMVs from Kandha), Karsog, Dhami–Shimla, Rampur (LMVs), Dharampur–Sandhol, Sarkaghat–Dharampur, Aut–Balichowki & Kotli.
BLOCKED: Kamand–Prashar (snowfall), Slappar–Tattapani (landslide near Aahen NTPC Koldam), Janjheli–Karsog via Raigarh (snowfall), Janjheli–Chattri (snowfall).
Caution: Slippery stretches at Kandhi (Mandi–Kullu via Kataula) & near Rohanda (Mandi–Karsog).
Note: Ghatasani–Barot open only for LMVs.

Jammu–Srinagar & Kashmir Roads (26 Jan 2026)
Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 is advised for daytime travel only due to risks of shooting stones, landslides, ongoing construction between Ramban–Banihal, and frost formation near Nachlana–Navyug Tunnel after fresh snowfall. Subject to fair weather, LMVs, private cars, HPVs and HMVs (goods carriers) are allowed from both sides. Night travel should be avoided.
Key Closures:
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244): Closed due to fresh snow
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri): Closed due to fresh snow
Mughal Road: Closed due to fresh snow
Commuters are advised to maintain lane discipline to avoid congestion and confirm road status before travel.

As per the latest advisory, several key roads in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh are open for traffic, while a few routes remain blocked due to snowfall, landslides, and slippery road conditions.

Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 Traffic Update (09:00 hrs)

Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been partially restored.

Clearance of stranded vehicles is underway between Navyug Tunnel and Nashri Tunnel.
However, the following roads remain closed:
• Mughal Road
• SSG Road
• Sinthan Road

Travellers are advised to avoid rumors and verify road status before travel.

J&K Road Status (24 Jan 2026)
Due to fresh snowfall and heavy rain, multiple key routes in Jammu & Kashmir are closed for vehicular movement:
NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar): Closed from Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar; no movement allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Chenani, Patnitop, Doda, Ramban, Banihal & Srinagar.
NH-244 (Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag): Closed due to fresh snow.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri): Closed due to fresh snow.
Mughal Road: Closed due to fresh snow.

Lahaul & Spiti: Heavy Snowfall Alert
Due to continuous heavy snowfall, traffic movement has been restricted/closed on key routes in Lahaul & Spiti with immediate effect to avoid any untoward incidents.

Darcha – Shinkuli

Reason: Closed due to heavy snowfall in the district.
Police check posts will regulate traffic accordingly.
