Delhi to Solan Bike Ride: Explore Himachal’s Best Food, Views, and Hidden Gems

Who doesn’t enjoy travelling in the mountains? Ever since I began exploring them, I haven’t been able to stop. Whenever I get a chance or a short holiday, I head straight to the hills of Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand. There’s something indescribable about the mountains that always calls me back — the crisp, cold winds, the breathtaking views, and the endless stretch of peaks that touch the sky. These sights have a magnetic pull, so much so that even a single picture or video of the mountains instantly makes me want to pack my bags and leave. I’ve been to Shimla many times, sometimes with family and sometimes with friends.

A cup of tea in my hand, a happy heart, so much peace that only the sound of the wind, the scorching cold. What could be better than this, I feel like going into this photo and reliving that moment. Life gets very busy with time that is why such moments are remembered a lot.

Bike Ride from Delhi to Solan, Himachal Pradesh

There’s something magical about riding into the hills, and my solo bike ride from Delhi to Solan was exactly that. Covering around 320–340 km, the route is scenic and takes you through highways, hill roads, and pine-covered turns. I started early from Delhi to avoid city traffic and reached Solan by afternoon with a few short breaks in between.

Just 40–45 kilometers before Shimla lies Solan, a truly beautiful and vibrant town. From a distance, the houses here look like part of a scenic painting. While wandering around, I discovered a hidden spot in Solan, located high up on a hill — a mountain within the mountains. Standing there feels like being above the world, with clouds drifting below your feet. After visiting once, I’ve returned multiple times. Solan’s Mall Road has become quite lively now, with a steady flow of visitors, a large local market, and several cozy cafés adding charm to the experience.

“While exploring, we found this hidden spot that takes you to a hill above Jatoli Temple. These pictures are from my solo bike ride.
